About the series
Bakerfield Unearthed is a series of adult comic novels by Kenji Morioka. Season One, Nothing Happens Here, is ten books long; each book is one complete episode and together they make one story with a real ending.
It is crude on purpose. It swears, it has alien anatomy jokes, and one of its books has the word butthole in the title. Underneath all that it is about five young men and one alien who find out that home is not where you are from; it is where you are chosen.
The cutout chaos
The handmade look and small-town irreverence owe a nod to South Park. Bakerfield brings its own town, cast and catastrophes: alien biology, a failing strip mall and a government agent who cannot keep his trousers up.

Start in the garage
Begin with Book One, then follow the season in order. Every book has a free cold open to read or listen to, with an illustrated slideshow. Mark a book as read to decode its log and uncover the parts of Agent Buckley's files that would otherwise spoil it.
While Buckley is looking the other way
Feed Zog in the Food Lab, sneak past a flashlight in Stakeout, volunteer for Probe Panic, or open the H-ED case files. Your progress stays with you in this browser.
The garage soundtrack
Switch on the original garage music or the little paper-and-scanner sound effects whenever you want. Each has its own control. Browser narration reads the free sample with the voice you choose; the printed pages are always here too.
Your data
